Allen,

Thanks for the video and coverage! As Rajeev mentions, we are very excited about both AdFlex, as well as AdRevenue08.

AdFlex really came about because networks were coming to us, asking to help them find other ways to connect to the 6,000 sites using PubMatic. What we found was that ad networks were looking for inventory in a flexible (on-demand – no long term contracts, ramp it up and down for each buy), transparent (which sites is the network going to run on), and certified (understand the quality and appearance of the site). When we talked with our publishers they said they were already using PubMatic to work directly with networks and were happy to find other ways to work with networks. So we really see this as an expansion of our mission of helping publishers monetize their inventory better, and working with ad networks more efficiently. Ad networks, in turn, get a great new way to get inventory flexibly. We’re less of an ad network, and more of a partner to ad networks supplying them inventory.

I hope you can make it to AdRevenue08. It’s going to be a great conference! There will be speakers from all the major exchanges and many large publishers. As you may have read from the recent IAB/Bain study on online advertising and ad networks, the use of ad networks is proliferating (95% of display impressions went to ad networks in 2007, and 30% of the dollars, up from 5% the year before) and publishers are struggling to work productively and manage yields across ad networks. We’re excited about playing a our part (however small) in the industry’s evolution!

Thanks,
Amar Goel
