PubMatic Launches Media Kit Creation Tool
by Allen Stern on April 15th, 2008
Ad network optimizer PubMatic has launched their media kit tool today. For most small sites, creating a media kit can be overwhelming and timeconsuming — PubMatic is trying to change that. The PubMatic media kit includes a widget plus a main content page hosted on PubMatic. You need a PubMatic account to use the media kit service.
It took about ten minutes to create the media kit that I’ve embedded below. I’d like to see an option to only link to the page that the widget links to. Not all sites will want to embed but most will be willing to link to the page. I am wondering if this could be the first step to PubMatic helping publishers with the buy/sell process. Currently the media kit points the advertiser directly to the publisher.

Allen,
Thanks for your post!
We’ve created the mediakit directory of the top 1,000,000 sites on the web and we hope it is a valuable resource to web users. Similar to LinkedIn resumes that people share publicly about themselves, this hopefully is the directory of media kits so anyone can learn more about what advertising opportunities exist on a site.
At PubMatic, our goal is really to help publishers monetize their ad inventory, and we hope the mediakit helps them in doing that.
Based on your original feedback, we have added the ability for a publisher to just link to their mediakit, and not have to embed the widget. Would love to see you use it!
When you go to get the widget code, in Section 2, you have the choice of do you just want an icon or the widget. If you choose “Icon” you get a small icon that just links to your site profile.
Here’s your the icon for your site (I am trying to paste it in below, hope this works):
