hey allen,

i'm actually curious to hear your thoughts on rescue time. i tried it out for a little while and i don;t really see the utility in it personally. im not going to change what i do because a little icon tells me to, it seems like another distracting gadget. now if the application could measure the roi for spending time in particular sites then that's a diff story. for example if the app told me i spent most of time on twitter then i would think "gee, maybe i should stop spending so much time on twitter" but if the app told me that i spent a lot of time on twitter and my site traffic doubled, well then i know that i should not be limiting my twitter time if it proves to be effective.

Actually I think it is a nice little idea that will help you to gather information about yourself - get to know your computer usage habits. But privacy issues stopped me from using RescueTime. Not only me but others too....

There are other competitors (clones) like JournalLive, TimeCamp who also suffer from the same problem... why should I want to share my computer usage information with a 3rd party... no way
