  1. Rob — I’d remove the last 3 jobs on your resume; likely also the dates that you were in college. Those jobs are irrelevant to what you want to do — if anything [and still, dont do this IMO], list just the 3 jobs as one line item each. But sincerely, erase them. As an employer, I don’t care about those jobs.

Aaron — I like how you did this. As an employer, I’d be looking at this post here because I have a specific position in mind that I want to fill. You cut the bullshit and answer my 1st question — what role are you seeking. Then I can click on your resume.

Dennis or anyone — just a thought — too much lingo. Honestly, we’re not brain surgeons that read this stuff. We are looking to comprehend just as you would. These aren’t real sentences IMO — or they are, but they are so cluttered with too many crazy words.

Eric — do what Aaron did at a minimum.

Best of luck to all of you. These are just opinions, so take them with a grain of salt – hope they help in some way.

Allen – I like it; I’d follow a consistent format for each candidate. Like Aaron’s, but then another line with 75 word desc-like rob

Thanks for the feedback Steve. My thought was that if this works and the community finds it valuable, I’d whip up a webapp that has the fields and lengths that you mention. I think this month will be the test to see if it holds water.

  3. Thanks for doing this, Allen.

  4. centernetworks says:
