Revver Acquired By LiveUniverse for Some Amount of Loss
Can you feel the love here on Valentine’s Day? Revver sure can after being sold to LiveUniverse for some amount of money than the initially reported $500,000-1.5m. NewTeeVee has the details on the deal including this quote, "The company, growing up alongside YouTube, was brought down from the limelight with a combination of bad luck, management problems, and product weaknesses. And oh yeah, the fact that it’s hard to make money on web video."
Back in November when Revver launched version 2.0 of their application, we wondered if anyone was actually still using it. While I am not a video superstar, my guess is that it makes more sense to start out on the largest networks making no money and then as you grow, you can move to a network that can generate revenue.
Revver raised nearly $13 million and assuming they have generated some amount of income, the sale would be at a loss.
