Rock Soap Opera: It’s About Two Rocks

We’ve covered thousands of startups here at CN from finance startups to health startups to search startups to seo plays. Tonight I’ve got a UK-based startup that frankly I don’t know how to categorize. It’s called Rock Soap Opera and is a soap opera like All My Children and Young and the Restless. The only difference is that this soap opera is about two rocks. Yes, two rocks.

The two rocks are Janine and Carlos and the story has run about 50 episodes so far. First they fall in love, then in episode 8, Janine tells Carlos she is pregnant. I am wondering if we will soon see a Maury Povich rock to do a dna test. Check out the full archive to view the entire current season.

I can tell you there are some major twists and turns that really keep you wondering what will happen next.

As for revenue model for the series, I am told they are in the ‘pre-revenue’ stage and are trying to build a strong, passionate userbase like so many other startups out there today. I also hear that an iPhone app, Blackberry app, Android app, Twitter page, Facebook profile, MySpace fan page, LinkedIn group, Ning fan group, Meebo instant messaging, Ustream and Justin live chat, Bebo page. For the European visitors they are working on creating a Xing setup as well. I believe these are the two most social-network-connected rocks out there.
