Seriously, I love this blog. I just see something missing… You just delivered very good vlogging stream. Don’t you think it’s better to provide a text version of your vlog (together with the video)?

1) Content get’s indexed by Search Engines
2) Bloggers (like me) can “Quote” your content

Anyways, those are just suggestions. I totally agree with you on the RSS feed monetization.

Thanks AJ – I appreciate your feedback and hope you always find value (or humor) in my videos. I agree on the text part – it’s something I’ve thought about the last few days – for example, on the Twitter song video I posted the entire lyrics. On this video, I just posted a short summary. Perhaps I will look at using MTurk like I did for the audio podcasts last year. But you are correct, on both #1 and #2.

RSS feed monetization will be a fun and exciting topic to discuss!

First time at this site; it’s pretty cool.
I agree with Josh in that I don’t think paying for feeds would work. I certainly wouldn’t pay, even though feeds are convenient. I, too, use feeds to quickly scan for content, and I have no problem clicking through to the site. Besides, 9 out of 10 times that I click through, I usually find some additional content of interest.
As with everything on the Wide World of Webbing, I think the keyword is “FREE”. Put a price on it, and it may lose popularity very quickly. I vote for feed monetization.

This seems like an interesting idea Allen. Im not too sure if the concept of paying for feeds would work. It is trying to solve the issue of monetizing feeds, but it could potentially make a lot more issues. How will you be able to control the spread of feeds into other blogs and other sites? It is then getting into the same issues as the music industry is currently having to deal with. Free is the only way.

I guess these ads will be CPM based (like the regular FAN ads) – so the revenue should ideally be proportional to the number of subscribers.

I can’t really see paying for feeds. If feeds can’t be monetized directly through advertising I would certainly be happy with only seeing the first paragraph or two from a post and then clicking through to the site for the full story. For me feeds are all about the convenience of being able to track tons of content and quickly be able to pick out the stories I’m interested in.

Granted I’m not using a mobile device so that is certainly a separate issue.
