Scoble’s New Job Revealed – Video Guy At Fast Company
Andy Plesser at Beet.TV has revealed the new role that Robert Scoble will play at Fast Company. Andy explains the role as he sees it, "Scoble will create and supervise a number of channels with other video creators, he told me this afternoon in phone call from San Francisco. Robert expects to have at least five new channels launched this year". I guess if you want to get into tech video blogging, Scoble is fairly well known and has thousands of sheep to follow him to Fast Company. Good luck to him and his new team.
My question would be whether we will see Robert in these new videos. He noted in 2007 that he was better suited to be behind the camera as the interviewer rather than the subject. We’ve already seen what happens when he’s the subject :)
Another important point that was revealed is that advertising will be sold on the scobleizer.com blog. Andy notes, "Although he will continue to own and run Scobleizer blog independently from Fast Company, he is entering into agreement with the publisher to sell advertising. This would be the first time ads, besides banners for his book, have been sold on the influential blog."
How will that change the blog? Clearly after Scoble scolded Gizmodo for their idiotic antics at CES and claimed that "journalists were supposed to report the news, not make it." I guess his Facebook antics (I believe worse than Gizmodo’s) will no longer be acceptable.

Allen,
No one cares about Robert Scoble anymore. You are right his antics have hurt him. Scoble isn’t qualified to run the register at 7/11.
robert: just interview people and continue to make fool out of yourself for traffic. Leave the reporting and video producing to professionals.
Here’s my long post explaining why we went to Fast Company and giving some more details: http://scobleizer.com/2008/01/16/why-were-going-to-fastcompanytv/
