but I don’t see anything showing up in your widget! is there a delay? I tried it in a different browser too, so I know it isn’t cached on my side.

It appears the display of tags is delayed…they just showed up now. The biggest issue about the del.icio.us widget is can it differentiate between multiple instances on a single page?

only thing i can think of is that you saved the home page perhaps? not sure exactly.

Using the one-liner include? No – it can only be used once per page because it uses the page location and title to automatically instantiate itself.

However, there is an as-yet-undocumented “manual mode” that we’re trying out. You can see it in the source code of the tagometer help page itself, as well as on my blog at http://decafbad.com/

Sometimes, the tagometer may lag a little behind the rest of the page loading. This was a compromise we made in order to be a bit less obtrusive in terms of overall page loading time. So, our stuff loads in, then schedules the fetch of the JSON data feed, then gets out of the way of the rest of the page. Shortly after that, the JSON data returns, and the tagometers fill in.
