So How Many Search Engines Aren't Running Google's Ads?
Written by Allen Stern - June 12, 2008
With Yahoo signing away their advertising business today to Google, I thought it would be interesting to look at the major search engines and see who handles their advertising. Have a look at the list below and check out just how dominant Google is. You wonder why no one is using the other search engines -- it's easy, if the search engine can't sell ads, perhaps their technology isn't as good either, right? Please add other engines in the comments and I will add them to the list.

what about hotbot?
I didn't include HotBot because they pull in listings from multiple sources - but it looks like they are running Yahoo ads.
Wow, its a bit creepy when you look at it this way.
yep!
A friend and I noticed another interesting coincidence with every search engine. All of these sites (at that time: 12/30/07) had results pages that had stylesheets that were similar to the one Google uses. Some of them may have changed, but I wouldn't be surprised if most them them used Adsense. Sorry, but I'm too tired to link them all. Hopefully you can find something interesting.

mahalo isn't a search engine any more? did I miss a post???
it's not - Jason has said its 50/50 at best and my belief is that it's a content/seo play only. The key to his success is how well he can rank in Google period.
Very interesting! Google really has a hold on the internet - will it always be this way?
That's an interesting list. Now, I've got a clear picture.
What about Marchex Network ?
