Sell your Web 2.0 site with this new startup
Steve Poland (of TechquilaShots and a judge in the video startup opportunity) has launched a new site aimed at helping people sell their Web 2.0 startups. Called web2.0forsale.com, it offers a way for $10 to post your startup or service for sale. It is powered by Edegio Marketplaces.
There was a story on TechCrunch about it last weekend and I wanted to wait to post to see the reaction. What I see is about 40 or so postings so far which is great. The low fee to signup will allow services to post quicker than if the fee was say $250 like on VentureBoard.
The real question for Steve is whether he can get the traffic needed for buyers to become the higher percentage of the traffic. It's always easy to get people to setup tables at a flea market, it's harder to get buyers. With Steve's great reputation throughout the Web 2.0 and VC arenas, that should certainly help.
My suggestion to Steve is to make sure he highlights the sales. These notes should help more buyers window-shop and hopefully increase the purchase percentage.

As unlikely as it seems from the outset, I think traditional media companies (TMC) will ultimately rule the web 2.0/New Media space. TMCs will surely become the next VCs.
