DESCRIPTION

Digg is looking for Senior Web Developers with plenty of PHP, MySQL and large scale website development experience. You’ll be working on a variety of projects – adding new cool functionality to digg.com and scaling the site to meet our ever increasing traffic.

Learn from some of the brightest minds in the PHP, design and operations communities Play with Memcache, Gearman, Mogile, PEAR, etc. in a high volume environment Create and contribute to open source projects while you work on high traffic and scalability problems at Digg. * Facilitate communication within business, quality, product and technical teams * Lead code reviews * Help enforce and refine development practices * Mentor other developers * Assist in feasibility analysis and estimation * Communicate status and escalate issues

QUALIFICATIONS

* 8+ years experience in Web development * 3+ with PHP/MySQL/Apache * Solid experience with Subversion, JavaScript, CSS and OO programming. * Knowledge of Memcache, SOA, PEAR, JSON are a plus * Knowledge of microformats and open standards are nice to have * Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or similar/relevant field preferred
