Senior Web Producer: MTV.com
This Senior Web Producer position sits in a production team within MTV.com that focuses on episodic shows-related content. The Senior Web Producer’s main focus is leading production efforts to conceive and produce high quality content creative and innovative delivery and presentation.
He or she will work closely with many groups in the department, elsewhere in the MTVN Digital sphere, and outside of Digital. Developing and managing relationships with MTV’s On-Air Producers and Development Team is a primary responsibility. Additionally among the aforementioned groups are Product Development, Planning & Operations, Editorial/Programming, Design, Technology & Software, QA, Marketing, Ad Sales Production, Research, Business and Legal Affairs, Music Strategy, and Search & Discovery. The Senior Producer will report to the Supervising Producer, Shows of MTV Digital Media.
Responsibilities include:
• Advocating digital needs of individual TV series and educating and guiding TV production on effective digital content experiences.
• Producing and overseeing show sites throughout series and project lifecycles.
• Identifying objectives, helping shape strategic direction and ensuring high quality content.
• Developing innovative concepts and content presentation ideas.
• Managing and identifying resources needed to accomplish production goals.
• Working with Project Managers to ensure that process, workflow, documentation, and tools are upheld and/or improved to department standards.
• Working with Search & Discovery team and Editorial to create, implement and maintain standards around SEO and content tagging.
• Working closely with other groups producing vertical properties around shows to identify and implement integration opportunities.
• Ensuring that all rights and clearances are properly pursued and secured.
• Leading content production teams to working with Channel Production, Editorial/Programming, Marketing in developing, coordinating and implementing on-air throws, in-site promotion, navigation and cross-linking standards and processes.
• Working with Ad Sales Production to develop integrated sponsorship opportunities within content pieces.
• Working with Research to identify and track relevant analytics.
• Collaborate with outside stakeholders (Music Programming, on-air producers, Integrated Marketing, other business units, etc…) to ensure that strategic objectives are understood in concept development, and met in final product.
• Developing ways to increase site traffic and optimize advertising revenue wherever possible.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• 4+ years of online producing experience at a major commercial media, entertainment or creative brand or interactive agency, particularly in the youth lifestyle space.
• Experience in multiplatform content extensions and original content production.
• Strong knowledge of and personal connection to MTV brand and franchises.
• Experience managing large teams, mentoring and providing creative guidance.
• Proven track record of overseeing creative development and implementation of web sites of high profile brands or franchises.
• Proven strength with details and tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated creative thinking towards problems and solutions.
• Must know Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Project, and Visio.
• Working knowledge and understanding of web technologies, including HTML, DHTML, Flash, XML, etc.
• Strong business ethics.
