I hope they really won&#039;t bother to spend money on it.  The Shorty Awards was so gamed it&#039;s incredible.  Some of the highest-ranking nominees clearly begged family, friends, and even got new Twitter sign-ups to hit the top spots.  If they can do so via the nomination process, gaming in the final voting round will be a piece of cake.

<p>I hope they really won&#8217;t bother to spend money on it.  The Shorty Awards was so gamed it&#8217;s incredible. 		<description>I just figure the Shorty Awards owners should know too.  I mean, really - why spend money on sending these attention seekers to New York?  There are much better applications of that money.

If they go through with it, it&#039;s a waste, and I will never endorse or support the Shorty Awards again.  It&#039;s sad how many people begged for the win, and it&#039;s worse when Shorty actually gives those who did this what they want...</description>
