I hope they really won't bother to spend money on it. The Shorty Awards was so gamed it's incredible. Some of the highest-ranking nominees clearly begged family, friends, and even got new Twitter sign-ups to hit the top spots. I mean, really - why spend money on sending these attention seekers to New York? There are much better applications of that money. If they go through with it, it's a waste, and I will never endorse or support the Shorty Awards again.
