Signup for my RSS feed. Don’t like it after 30 days? I will donate $1 to a charity!
by Allen Stern on December 22nd, 2006
Alright, so I want to get ya'all to try out the CenterNetworks RSS feed!
And so, here is what I am offering:
- Signup for the email or RSS feed option before December 31, 2006
- Stay for 30 days
- After 30 days if you don't like it, send me an email and let me know why
- I will donate $1 to a charity (You can pick from 4 charities to be named in January)
That's it. Give me 30 days and while I can't make your abs tighter, I can help you create a better web app and learn about the new web.
Example Feed:

Official Rules: limit one donation per email address. Total donation limited to US$500 (We are just starting out!). All requests for donations must be received by February 15, 2007.

you’d better hope that a million people don’t sign up just to say they don’t like it :p
Merry Christmas Allen
Darren – it appears people buried the story on digg for some reason so that now I doubt we will get too many people. Also, I put a disclaimer of up to $500 because frankly that's all I got!
Oh well, I am certainly disappointed that people buried the digg.
yeah maybe if you’d said you’d give away an apple computer:p Digg has some really offensive and childish users but i guess that can be said of any community.
I’ve come to enjoy the site and am happy to subscribe, but you must not truncate your posts in RSS. Let me read the full post in my RSS reader… the anecdotal evidence I have seen indicates it will boost your page views.
I skip over a number of posts from blogs who truncate. I think you would rather me read your material and (most likely) visit your site than skip over it entirely.
Kevin – I am working on a full feed option – should be available in early 2007. Thanks for the feedback and the nice comments, I appreciate them!
