We expect this to be resolved within 12 to 24 hours. Meanwhile, you can simply leave your Skype client running and as soon as the issue is resolved, you will be logged in. We apologize for the inconvenience. As of 11:34AM EST it is down in NY area.

There has been the odd time throughout the day when it has connected - at one point it said 830,000 (ish) users connected - the lowest I've ever seen! Clearly they are having issues......
