The usability on this site is absolutely unusable. I like to see new things tried, but throwing out all web usability conventions doesn't rank high on my list.

So, what's up with all the crazy icons? I have no clue what they do. "Maybe if I hover over it, it will say what it is" nope, no luck there.

I understand what's trying to be done, I just won't be reading there because it's not usable or useful in that format.

I appreciate your comments - we don't have a traditional blog UI at sxp.com, but it's quite simple really. If you want to view posts by category, simply click on Blogs at the top and select your category. If you'd like to drill down further, click on a company icon.

If you'd like to add content to your sxp page, click on Widgets, and at this time, you will be able to add some web2.0 blog feeds, news feeds, or a web search widget to the page. The Widget icons that remain dark when you hover over them are not fully developed yet, and will be available in a later release.

We've got many additional features being developed, some with the purpose of eliminating confusion, so keep an eye on SXP!

Todd, whilst I appreciate your explanation in regards to usability - in my experience as visual analyst, if a user has to ask that many questions about what they need to do, they won't bother asking them at all, and subsequently leave pronto.

I would tend to agree with Erik in that SXP does create more questions in the minds of users that is necessary or helpful.

Talking on the concept though - I love the idea, and offer my sincere hope that you succeed! I will be keeping an eye and following you as much as I can.

Best,
Matt Harwood
