This is a fascinating perspective on understanding social media. The complexities of dealing with ourselves online is an area that doesn’t get enough attention. Even when we feel we are being ourselves, there’s still elements of persona that we create. I think that people who know me online would be surprised by some of my differences in real life.

I’m looking forward to your white paper exploring this issue more deeply.

Thanks for the great article on user personas, that was really interesting. It’s something I was thinking about a few months back, but never had time to fully explore – work got in the way! – hence my very rough idea of the “transparent mirror”:

Wow. Great article. This is definitely a topic that could be talked about for hours. People can develop a completely different persona online and we have seen people cater to these online personas by acting differently offline. It’s a strange, strange world out there.
