Some interesting (fun) notes from the Razorfish side of the Microsoft-aQuantive deal including new logo

So the big news today was Microsoft's acquisition of aQuantive for $6billion. Now I have been a part of some large acquisitions on both the buy and sell side and one thing always rings true… if you acquire a web shop, the acquired designers and developers will always have a bit of fun before the (usual and customary) cuts begin. Before I share them, I believe Microsoft will spin-off the Avenue A | Razorfish agency side within fiscal 2008.

So here are some of the things being thrown around:

  • All developers will be forced to use Frontpage for development
  • All projects in development using anything but Visual Studio has been halted
  • Any employees using an iPod will be shot on scene
  • Any employees not wishing to be shot on scene should request an iPod-Zune trade at the debrief meeting.
  • MS Paint has been selected (see the press release) as the new design tool for AA|RF, replacing Illustrator, Photoshop and Flash
  • Google services blocked from use
  • Yahoo services allowed during non-business hours
  • Drop in other rumors in the comments…
