About the position:

The Senior Manager of Insights and Analytics is a newly created role expected to add another layer of depth and dimension to The Knot Inc.. The research team’s primary objective is to provide the valuable consumer insights that will establish The Knot as the unparalleled authority on the lifestages and communities that we serve: Brides, Newlyweds and first-time parents.

Within this framework, this role is responsible for leveraging information from our data rich website and e-commerce operation to deliver insightful analyses of relevant website performance metrics and provide actionable recommendations that will help synergize and optimize initiatives across The Knot Inc. family of brands.

Partnering closely with key internal stakeholders, the Sr. Manager of Insights and Analytics will play a leading role in gathering, tracking, measuring, reporting and analyzing data to identify key performance indicators, understand online traffic patterns, segment customer behaviors and increase acquisition and conversion of site visitors. We expect this role will liaise closely with our Technology Group as measurement systems are further developed and automated. The successful candidate will quickly become a valued internal resource and strategic partner company-wide.

About the department: Our newly expanded Research and Analytics team is led by our VP of Insights and Analytics. The group partners internally with other key business units across the company including local and national sales marketing, brand marketing, consumer marketing.,sales, editorial, and business development .

Key Responsibilities:

•Direct and develop web analysts by disseminating best practices across the web analytics team.
•Manage key metrics to measure website performance; develop additional relevant metrics; general reporting activities.
•Identify, quantify and explore key phenomena in the data, then work cross-functionally with the consumer marketing, product marketing, brand marketing and national/local sales marketing, creative, engineering and Q/A teams to surface insights and recommend courses of action.
•Work closely with data warehouse team to improve methods for data capture, analysis and reporting.
•Define, manage and prioritize research on customer usage trends and customer segments to analyze and target in support of business objectives.
•Compile, analyze and communicate key results and implications to Senior Management.
•Participate in web site projects as a measurements expert, identifying reporting requirements, monitoring the reporting implementation and evaluating post-launch metrics.
•Participate in additional business intelligence activities related to data analysis, as needed.
•Share research findings and best practices with key stakeholders including customer insights, benchmarking, and industry updates.

Required knowledge, skills and attributes:

•Minimum of 5 years of experience in online analytics – site optimization, media optimization, creative optimization, design and execution of A-B tests and multivariate tests and experience using leading analytics software (e.g. Webtrends, Omniture, Coremetrics).
•Experience with tracking systems for integrated, online marketing efforts – campaign hierarchy, digital media tagging, data validation processes, process automation, dashboards and understanding of website and micro-site tagging Analysis and optimization of online campaigns across banners, paid search, CPA, organic search and site analytics.
•A deep understanding of Internet business models and processes and a strong understanding of interactive marketing concepts and strategies.
•A strong understanding of Web strategy and design as well as consumer research principles required.
