I’ve been considering freelancing through oDesk and found a review you wrote in 2006 entitled “oDesk = eSlavery 2.0?”

The reason I googled them was because I was getting a little freaked out as I read about their Big Brother methods of keeping providers “honest.” As you mentioned, key strokes don’t record thoughts, but thinking is an important part of writing and editing–maybe the most important part–but it seems as though oDesk doesn’t reward it.

Have you done a recent evaluation of them? I’d be interested to know if your opinion has changed since it’s been 3 years since your original article.
