StreetBee Acquires JamJunky; Rebrands as GetYourGrooveOn
StreetBee has acquired JamJunky, a music composition review service. We reviewed the service when it launched three months ago and JamJunky added a Facebook application in July. I described JamJunky as, "Basically JamJunky is a way for you to upload your own authored music and get feedback from your friends and other song writers to help perfect your songs."
The new owners have rebranded JamJunky as "GetYourGrooveOn" and have created an unlimited beta which means you can use the service as much as you would like for free during the beta period.
I asked JamJunky founder James Thomas for his reaction to the sale. He said, "I think this acquisition benefits StreetBee.com/BandNation.com tremendously, as it fills a niche in a demographic they're already involved in. From my perspective, the timing and the price were right. I wish StreetBee/BandNation continued success with GetYourGrooveOn and the rest of their product line." The purchase price was not disclosed. Congrats to all parties involved!
Editor's note: James Thomas is an occasional contributor to CenterNetworks.
