Track the Swine Flu Outbreak on Google Maps
by Allen Stern on April 26th, 2009
It seems the biggest health currently is the outbreak of Swine Flu. Twitter user Matty McClain seems to have the best tracker for links of reported cases and general Swine Flu news.
Google user Niman with a listed occupation of biomedical research has created a Google Maps mashup that shows all of the locations where a Swine Flu case has been reported. I can’t embed the map so click the link above to view the entire current map.
Ben Parr at Mashable has some additional tracking resources.
If you know of any other good Swine Flu trackers, leave the links in the comments and I will add them to the story.

Does anyone have insight on how location specific investments might result from the swine flu?
Here are some more maps of the swine flu:

Jerry, I think location specific investments will be impacted depending on what the products or services are, and where they’re manufactured or serviced. As of today, several large companies have suspended travel to Mexico for their employees – Caterpillar was one of them. I think in this climate your choice of investments would be in healthcare products such as latex or other hospital gloves, masks, and other outerwear- like tyvek-style paper gowns.
Thanks for the great maps to look at the progression of the virus. It was very informational and current. Hope you have a good night.
that map goes hours and hours (currently 8) without being updated, see http://www.tinyurl.com/swinemap09 instead
