T-Mobile USA Outage – Service Down
I’ve received several calls over the past few hours that there are outage and service down issues currently with mobile provider T-Mobile. I haven’t been able to reach a close friend of mine this evening – all I get when I call him is a fast busy signal. He just sent me the following message from T-Mobile customer service:
Important message for T-Mobile customers
Some T-Mobile customers may be experiencing intermittent service disruptions impacting calls and messages.
Our rapid response teams have been mobilized to restore service as quickly as possible.
There is a thread on the T-Mobile support forums noting, “Issues began at approximately 5:30 p.m. Eastern time.” The forums say that it could take as long as 24 hours to get service restored.
Update: T-Mobile says that all service has been restored. You may now continue making your calls and telling the world on twitter that you had a turkey sandwich for dinner.
Additional coverage on Gizmodo and MocoNews notes that 5% of T-Mobile customers are affected. Please leave a comment if you are using T-Mobile and your service is currently in service or is down.
I’m in Los Angeles I from 11:45 p.m. to 1:25 a.m on New Year eve and New Year day without service. I had a lost friend and was not able to give them directions. It was the worst time to lose service.
T-mobile sucks,,,I hate this damn company… my phone service has been up and down for about a month… i will be switching service.
Like hell it was 5%!!! I figure, probably the whole of the US was down, and that may well be 5% of the customer base for T-mobile!! They probably routed all the calls through some 3 computers somewhere, and one of the poor things died of old age…
T-Mobile was not the only service affected!
Include ATT for Houston AM hours on 11/4/09. No calls in/out and web service was shutdown. Service seamed to restore around 3 PM CST

Mine was out since 2:30-10:00 p.m.-
After calling Tmobile they offered a $5 credit.-I have three phones on a family plan yet I received a $5 credit.
To top it off, this is my work emergency phone.
My apartment complex has thousands of dollars in damage due to a water emergency that could have been minor had I been able to be contacted.
Unacceptable T mobile!
its a bunch of bull, my father in law has been trying to call me since last friday, he is over seas in hong kong. SO im sure that my service has been working on and off at least since then. and now its completely dead. its very hard to believe that only 5% of Tmobil;e customers lost service. This outage is occurring too often., altought last time it was a partial outage with data.
I am in the Houston area and my phone could not make or recieve calls since yesterday around 5pm central time until this morning when I woke up at 8am. That was a long time to have the network down, I work in an IT department. Also many of my friends and family use t-mobile and they were having issues as well.
Me and my husbands blackberry’s were both down, we restarted and nothing helped. Started at 3 ish our time (az time) and we had no service until 7 am this morning.
thats bad and i get dropped calls sometimes. tmobile is a lot chaeper but their network is not worh it.
i have a samsung behold phone on tmobile.my phone had fulls service at home but my phone said it was searching for a signal and i couldnt text,call,or use the web.i currently have service however.im very patient and easy going but all these service problems like service down, a lot of deadzones on the east coast, im thinking about switching services.
And here I thought my new ATnT phone killed my T-mobile.
Im in Philly, My G1 was down since 7pm eastern time but my old Razor is still up and running! As of 12:45am, my G1 came back up.
I have a T-Mobile Blackberry – can’t receive calls, but can call out to everyone but T-Mobile’s Customer Service Line. I can still send and receive texts and emails. Did not try surfing the web on the phone. Another family member in the same household has a cheesy basic Nokia phone on the same T-Mobile family plan. His phone is working fine and has been throughout the outage. Started at 5:30 PM 11/03/09 in Michigan and still not resolved at 12:55 AM 11/04/09.
down since 2:30 pm – and STILL down at 9:40pm Pacific…

Here in Kansas it is down. When I try to dial out it rings once or twice then goes straight to busy signal. However, I think I just got all my text messages at once from all day. So maybe they are making some progress. It’s been kinda nice to have the silly thing silent tonight. A few glitches aren’t going to make me change my service. Patience people!
I’m in Texas and my son is in Florida both phones have been out since 6pm eastern time hard to believe it is only 5% that has a problem

T-Mobile LIES. More like 5% up 95% down. Minneapolis down.
My Service has been down sense 3:30pm pst and and now its 8:32pm still no service.

I had several t-mobile outages last week and again today ):
In Ohio–outgoing calls are as normal, but texts are intermittent at best. I’m receiving bunches at once, cannot send at all.
Yea mines been down since 5pm mountain time
right outside of Seattle and my girlfriend and I have no service. 5%? Yea right!
Have not had any service since 5PM Central time here in Chicago.
In New Hampshire- its 11 pm and still just a fast busy. From the blogs and posts ive read its substantially more than five percent.
this is such bullshyt my phone and boyfriends have been down since 6pm and customer service number is not working at allll it wont even ring from a landline when is it going back up does anyone know???????????

Service is sucking it up in Salt Lake City
Holy crap, only 5% were affected? No way. Our town is HEAVY t-mobile. Almost everyone went down.

Try turning your phone off and on. I did that and my service is restored. I’m in the Bay Area
