NY-based BeenVerified has moved their service out of beta and into the public eye today. BeenVerified calls themselves a, "web 2.0 employment candidate background verification service". They provide a way to verify the people you are chatting with on a social network through offering services for HR professionals with candidate background checks.
I was able to catch BeenVerified CEO Joshua Levy for a quick interview and I’ve embedded it below.
Today at the Web 2.0 Expo in NYC, I met with Joshua Levy. Joshua is co-founder and CEO of BeenVerified. NY-based BeenVerified is attempting to move the process of identity verification forward. They provide a way to verify the people you are chatting with on a social network through offering services for HR professionals with candidate background checks.

Spotmerchant.com – The Complete Online Store Solution
Spot Merchant offers templates to build and manage online stores, without the need to install software. They target small- and medium-sized web2.0 store owners. Toggl is a free online application that allows users to track time. Been Verified aims to eliminate fraud and anonymity on the internet by verifying user identity and background credentials. Been Verified targets freelancers and others who work online (such as eBay vendors), social networkers, as well as employers who want to use Been Verified in lieu of a traditional background check. GorillaSpot is a new video editing app. Using it is a matter of dragging and dropping content into the timeline. You can give it a test drive using the Sweeney Todd trailer.
