FanFeedr Offers a Personalized Sports Search Aggregator

by Allex - July 14th, 2009

fanfeedrFanFeedr is a new NY-based startup that offers a personalized sports search aggregator. Frankly I was a bit confused when I loaded up the home page and was presented with a bunch of baseball teams. Who are these “Red Sox” or “Phillies”? Aren’t the Yankees the only team that matters? Call me puzzled…but we proceed anyway.

The site offers a search front and center which allows you to find the team, player or piece of news that interests you. As you can see in the screenshot below, the search results page offers a variety of info including last night’s score (by law we must allow the Angels to win sometimes), filters for refining the search results, along with content from news, videos, blogs, etc. When you click a link, FanFeedr loads a frame which includes a footer and you should already know I am not a fan of framing content.

The sports currently available on FanFeedr are the NFL, NCAA Football, MLB, NBA, NCAA Basketball and the NHL. FanFeedr allows you to create an account using Facebook Connect and there is a heavy push to share items on Facebook. After you create an account, you can note which teams you are a fan of and it appears more community features are coming.

The FanFeedr team is a mix of former sports and media executives and developers.
