Magnolia Founder Discusses Site Outage and Data Loss
Magnolia founder Larry Halff sat down with Chris Messina for a discussion of what happened with the Magnolia bookmarking service. There was a data outage about a month ago that took the service offline. Check Webware, Zoli and Mashable for an explanation of what happened.
The discussion is about thirty minutes long and is very much worth listening to – Larry discusses everything about Magnolia including what happened with the data loss. He discusses why the backup failed. Larry notes that he built the tool out of love for it and was working towards a business model when the data crashed. Larry also discusses the recovery program along with how he plans to build back trust with his userbase once the service comes back.
Larry and Chris run a podcast named Citizen Garden which is where the interview below is from.
