MySomeday Aims To Help You Reach Your Goals
When I was in graduate school, one of my professors asked me about my travel goals in life and I started my reply with, “someday”. Before I could even finish, he immediately responded, “someday will never come”.
A new NY-based startup has launched to help all of us finally reach our “someday” goals. The site is called MySomeday and the idea is to create an actionable plan to reach a goal. Here’s an example of a person who wants to learn how to ice climb. Part of the goal process is to create mile markers to help achieve real progress towards the goal.
My only constructive criticism of MySomeday is to polish up the design. It could feel a bit warmer – this type of site needs a very welcoming design. Even 2 hours of CSS touchups would help tremendously.
MySomeday founder Joseph Satto has posted a story about how his someday helped him create MySomeday. It’s worth a read — Joseph owned the mysomeday.com domain back in 2001, allowed it to expire, a squatter purchased it and in 2007 Joseph bought the domain back (price undisclosed).
Since we are talking about someday goals, here are a few of my non-personal goals (leave yours in the comments):
- finally finish learning German
- learn Japanese and travel to Tokyo and document the subway system
- fly an airplane (not in MS Flight Simulator)
- meet Rachel Stevens
