Pinch Media Partners With JumpTap on iPhone Application Advertising

pinch mediaNY-based Pinch Media is announcing the launch of Pinch Advertising today. Pinch Advertising is a partnership between Pinch Media and JumpTap. Pinch Media has iPhone applications and JumpTap has mobile advertising solutions. The Pinch Media blog has more information on how iPhone developers can signup for this new advertising program.

From their announcement:

Pinch Media is now working with JumpTap, a comprehensive provider of advertising solutions for the mobile Internet. I’ve talked a lot with the members of JumpTap’s executive team, and they get it – they understand the iPhone environment is special, the user experience is critical, and we’re a developer-centric business. I’m thrilled that JumpTap’s experienced sales team is going to be finding the best ads for Pinch Media’s network of applications. I’m also thrilled that they’re selling in-application advertising alongside their web advertising, because it means they can potentially combine the two into a single advertising buy. I was up nights trying to think of ways that we could help the most iPhone developers, including iPhone developers who are just starting out and don’t have a lot of application traffic. It’s very difficult to sell advertising when you don’t have that large audience – and in advertising terms, the entire iPhone application market combined is still relatively small. Well, now that small audience can be part of something bigger, to everyone’s benefit.

On the technical side, Pinch Advertising is a drop-in library for your iPhone SDK applications. A few scripts and you could be generating revenue from your iPhone applications. Perfect timing with the launch of the App Store this month. 

JumpTap opened a new NYC office this week. I will try to get over to their new office next week for some more details on this new partnership.

iPhone Application Developers Get Help From Pinch Media

Pinch MediaNYC-based Pinch Media presented at an event I attended earlier this week. I captured the presentation and have embedded it below. Greg Yardley, Pinch Media Co-Founder & CEO, explained that the services they offer help iPhone application developers with monetization, usability and analytics.

The video is worth watching if you are into mobile devices, mobile app development or mobile monetization.  In fact the only sales pitch is about 2 seconds at the end. Yardley begins by explaining that the iPhone isn’t a phone, it’s a computer that makes calls. He shows a variety of stats, discusses Android and speaks in detail about how the iPhone SDK will change mobile data usage.

The company raised a round of funding in late May from Union Square Ventures and First Round Capital.
