SellingCrossing job search launches; spends $5 million on job database
I took a look at a new job board that launched today for the sales professional. SellingCrossing noted that they are an online job board featuring every single sales opening in the world, as well as informative news articles and inspiring profiles. It is your one-stop site for all things sales-related.
CEO Harrison Barnes states, "I always wanted to find a way to enable any sales professional to have unlimited resources to find a position. We have put more than $5 million into creating the database for SellingCrossing.com, and it shows. We have a resource that is truly one of a kind."
From the company release, "The success of SellingCrossing comes from its employees' constant monitoring of more than 10,000 websites per day and its dedication to scouring the Internet for sales jobs. Updates are made by more than 150 SellingCrossing employees. "
The site appears to work fine – though there is a fee for job seekers ($30/month) which they really don't disclose anywhere. In fact, I had to search through the terms for it. They have horoscopes (??) and while they state that you can find a job anywhere in the world, the only jobs listed are in the U.S. Also, if you check the page title on their release, it talks about every kind of job EXCEPT sales jobs. Not sure if they are using a system from another project but that needs to be corrected. I am sure spending $5 million on a database much be pretty robust!
For me spending $360 a year to find a job (assuming it took a year) is probably too much to afford for those out of work. I can see spending some money if these are exclusive top level positions, but for general search, I would stick to either a niche free job board or SimplyHired.
