Snap Archive

Snap, the service which created previews of web site links on a blog or site has been discontinued. There has been tons of flack about these previews and most bloggers appear not to like them. They have continued to make changes to the program which is great as they have been listening to user feedback. First every link had a preview, then you could customize which links had previews, etc.

Today they launch Snap Shots which is basically the same feature but for specific URLs. They include the following "Shots":

• WikiShot
• StockShot – is this real time?
• MovieShot
• VideoShot
• ProductShot – does this keep my AmazonID?
• PhotoShot
• AudioShot
• PreviewShot – this is all other web sites

So it does appear that with the rebranding you can still preview any web site. I like the idea of this for the "shots" but wonder if you can use everything but the preview shot, or select the shots that you wish for your site. I have pinged the Snap team and will report back.
