Tigerbow – Send Physical Gifts to People With an Email Address or Facebook Account

tigerbowNY-based Tigerbow launched last year and provides a service that allows you to send physical gifts to people with email addresses and/or Facebook accounts. Adam Ostrow wondered if the service was a bit creepy in his review.

Here’s how the service works. You select a gift on the Tigerbow website. During the checkout process, you enter the email address or Facebook account for the recipient. Next you enter your payment details for the gift. Tigerbow then sends an email/Facebook message to the recipient. When the recipient accepts the gift and enters his or her physical address, the gift is sent and the sender’s credit card is charged. In some ways, it’s like Paypal for gifts.

Currently Tigerbow offers gifts in the following categories: books, movies, cards and food. I’d like to see Tigerbow work on making their service work with Amazon so that I can buy anything for my friend. Currently the categories are limited and this will limit Tigerbow’s potential for major success.

I could also see this service working well for blog contests. This way the winners don’t have to provide their shipping details to the blogger. They just complete the transaction through Tigerbow.
