TimeRime – Create Rich Media Timelines

by Allen Stern - February 2nd, 2009

timerimeTimeRime is a recently-launched startup that provides an online Web tool to help you create timelines. I’ve embedded an example below featuring the Superbowl champions of all time (of course the only ones that matter are the ones the Giants won).

The timelines can include rich media — images, text, video and photos. You can annotate portions of the timeline to show patterns. When you visit the full page for a timeline, there’s also the ability to comment on the content. As you jump around the timeline, more content is displayed along with a larger image or video.

I like TimeRime because it’s easy-to-use and functional. The team tells me they have been successful in the education market to-date. I am assuming it works well for history lessons.

TimeRime is based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. They appear to be ad-supported although I could see strong partnerships with companies looking to show off their history. In my former life we created many a historical timeline and using TimeRime would have made the job much easier.
