Touristr is a startup that has been around for a while but is new to me. Touristr provides a place where you can create stories from trips that you have taken. In the title for this review I said Touristr offers travel blogs which is basically what the stories are… blog entries. Each trip can contain multiple stories and a variety of media types (video, image, text, etc.). I like the smoothness of creating stories and trips on Touristr.

The other side of Touristr is the explore section which offers access to the trips and stories created by Touristr members. I like the search feature because it shows only a few results and forces the user to refine the search to find exactly what the user is looking for. I did find that the search isn’t always accurate as a search for ‘New York" returned results in Chicago (and we know which city has the better pizza!). If they pushed users to enter ZIP or postal codes on their stories, the search could become more efficient.
