Upcoming Conferences: Speaking and Discounts
There are two upcoming conferences in June 2008 which we have partnered with or are speaking at and I was able to wrestle ya’all some big discounts for each!
Graphing Social Patterns East
I will be moderating a panel on Widgets, "The Joy of Widgets: Everything You Want to Know But Were Afraid to Ask" on June 10th. On the panel are: Alex Bard, Goowy; Jodi McDermott, Clearspring; Ro Choy, Rockyou; Carnet Williams, Sprout.
If you are interested in attending, when you register use the code ‘gspe08fos’ for 20% off!
I’d like to do a CN dinner on the 10th and will have more details on this next week. If you have suggestions on location or wish to sponsor, let me know.
Under the Radar
CN is a media sponsor of Under the Radar which will be held on June 3, 2008 in Mountain View, CA. Four NYC companies will be representing: Animoto, Aviary and 33Across.
If you are interested in attending, click here to register and receive a $100 discount.
Under The Radar Conference: Call For Companies
The Under The Radar conference has a current call for companies to enter. I spent some time speaking with the conference organizers last week and was impressed by the amount of effort they put into helping the selected companies get ready to present their pitch. Below are the details if you are interested in submitting your company. If you need assistance with the submission, send me a note.
They specifically asked me to stress that this is not a bay-area event – companies from anywhere in the world are encouraged to apply. The category for this conference is social media and entertainment and they are looking for companies in the following categories:
- Advertising
- Casual Gaming
- Commerce
- Measurement Tools
- Messaging
- Mobile Applications and Tools
- Publishing
- Search
- Rich Internet Apps
- Social Media/Networking
- Virtual worlds
- Video
- Web Design Tools
- Widgets and Desktop Enhancements
Criteria for Company Selection:
- Unique value proposition
- Ability to monetize product/business
- Large market opportunity
- Must still be considered "under the radar" – launched within the year
- Company must be an actual startup – not a new product from a large company
- Beta and beyond – must have a customer/beta testers/or using the product in the market
Apply here – applications due by March 28, 2008
