Mytopia

– mobile phones are turning into smart phones
– this presenter is taking way too long to get to the money shot
– basically this service lets you use a Web app on mobile smartphones
– the world’s first native application that runs on any social network plus any mobile device
– runs all different kinds of code (java, c++, etc) for each specific device
– shows an example using a poker game – I have a royal flush
– shows the game running on an android emulator
– "rugs" is their development environment – compiles apps to each platform automatically
– they offer simulators to make it easy
– mytopia around for a year, has picked up a C round of funding (update: apparently he may have said SEED not C)

Tonchidot

– Presenting "Sekai Camera"
– From Tokyo
– Shows an iPhone in the mall
– Looks like QR codes but using photos of items
– So if you look at a burger, it shows you food things
– If you look at a picture of a cat it shows you cat info
– basically you hold up your iPhone to a scene and it shows you the "tags" for that information
– your friends can alert you when you are looking at things they have tagged
– it’s a platform
– looks pretty interesting but the demo was confusing

mobclix
– we all love to hate the iphone when an app crashes
– we are going to revolutionize how apps are made and to incentivize developers to make the best apps out there
– we transform your app into a business
– shows an app called scribble by zintin
– 15 minutes, 15 lines of code to insert the mobclix code
– basically analytics for iphone apps – seems like buddy media out of nyc
– offers a feedback and user comment system
– calls it google analytics for iphone apps
– can help take iPhone apps and bring them together with brands to monetize the apps
– "give us 15 minutes and we will take your iPhone apps to the next level

FitBit

– they want to make america a healthier place
– shows a linux conference and requested tshirt size and how it has gone up in 10 years
– shows a bagel and how much larger it has grown over the last 10 yrs – i can agree with that
– a device that looks like a big paperclip that you wear all day and it tracks everything you do
– gives you a 24 hour view on your body’s activities
– device is wireless – when you walk by the base station, the data is uploaded
– so if you can only upload via the base station, then how do you get the data when you go on a trip?
– can tell how well you actually sleep
– can track friends and participate in a group
– there’s a food logging tool as well
– $99 for the device
