Videosurf
– a new way to find and view videos across the web
– has a proprietary technology that can look inside the videos for the content
– basically you start with a broad video search and then can dive deeper
– has a very visual approach to the video results
– offers a way to share clips and share specific moments within the videos
– they recognize faces and then can visually go and find other videos with the same person
– has a visual related search
– has a discovery engine to find videos on a topic - they say they offer a new relevancy approach for results
– Allen: one of my favorites so far
Gazoopa
– next generation similar image search
– keywords don’t work well in image search
– uses color and shapes in images to find similar images
– can crawl 50,000 images in 1 minute
– you can upload an image and then it finds similar images - damn that’s sweet
– it notices faces and then can provide a similar search on face
– you can draw a picture and then it finds similar images from there
– it can search via a video thumbnail
BoJam
– looks like MixMatchMusic (DEMO presenter) but not as good looking
– lets you pull a variety of clips
– bojam is a platform for musicians to come together to create music and "lend us their skill"
– works with any skill level of musicians
– allows the musician to make a video showing them playing the instrument so newbies can follow along - somehow i don’t see this working
– "open source wikipedia for music creation" — lots of questions about royalty rates for the songs
