Techcrunch40: Keynote Panel – Hurley, Filo, Andreesen

Ok, now we have the first keynote with Chad Hurley, Andressen and Filo. Here are my notes:

Hurley – my background in art – he got his start by selling paints on plywood in his front lawn in philly

Filo – I came out here for Stanford and Yahoo in the right place at the right time

Andressen – I knew early on I wouldnt stay in rural America – I started a lemonade stand as my first business. I went to the univ or illinois – i had no idea what a venture capitalist was – and i was lucky to come to silicon valley and the idea of entrep. is much more widespread than it was 15 years ago – things were dormant in 1994.

Andressen – one out of 1,000 might work and i think you cant necess. say we def. have that one – let’s think in terms of products we would like to use

Allen – honestly this is very, very boring. I am trying to take notes but there isn’t really anything worth nothing so far.

I asked them all to give some startup tips – you know for most of the people startups here :)

Andressen – get a ceo from inside instead of hiring a professional ceo

Chad - small teams as you can move faster than the yahoos, googles and microsofts and look at how you are using the product to make decisions
