Techcrunch40: Initial Thoughts and Opening Comments

Here are my initial thoughts from the entry, check-in and initial demo-pit walkthrough. My photos are available on Flickr and reload this page for the latest info – I will note when this post has completed.

• Awesome internet connection so far – wired too!
• Demo Pit nicely organized – some have larger monitors and fancier displays than others – will this affect voting?
• Nice press section in the front of the ballroom – no stadium seating – sux for those in last row!
• Jason was nice to me :) Met TC Duncan and Go2Web Orli
• I will try to do quick updates on Twitter
• 13 startups from outside the usa
• most of the startups presenting have less than 200k vc
