Technical Director

WDDG is an interactive advertising firm located in downtown Manhattan. We have a first-rate roster of clients including Marc Ecko, Marc Jacobs, Coty Beauty, Sesame Workshop, and Ubisoft. We’re currently looking for a qualified Technical Director with 6+ years of experience to add to our team in a full-time capacity in our Tribeca office. The candidate should be comfortable will all aspects of web development, both client and server side development, and have the ability to architect custom software solutions for clients. The candidate should be up-to-date with current trends in web development and always keeping an eye out for new technologies.

The Technical Director should have strong social skills as they will be interacting with clients frequently, as well as serving as the lead manager for a team of developers and working with Project Managers to create timelines and scheduling. The ideal candidate would also be well-rounded in system administration as they will be often called on to configure web and database solutions. The Technical Director will report into the Managing Director and President of WDDG and is our most senior role on the development team.

Requirements:

* MUST have at least 4 strong work references. Yes we said 4, and we will be calling them
* 6+ years experience in development or coding software or interactive web development for advertising and/or marketing communications
* BA/BS degree with a major in computer science, robotics, mathematics, physics or other closely-related areas, OR a good reason why you didn’t need a degree
* Excellent social skills
* Understanding of all capabilities of client and server side development
* Adobe Flash 7, 8 & 9
* Actionscript 2 & 3
* SQL experience
* Apache, IIS, MySQL and SQLServer administration experience
* Experience using Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator
* Proficient in at least two common backend languages (PHP, JSP/JAVA, ASP, etc.)
* HTML, CSS, XHTML
* JavaScript
* Ability to address emergency technical situations during non-office hours
* Extremely trustworthy and able to give evidence of a similar position with similar responsibilities at a previous job
* Must live in/be able to commute to New York City (our offices are in Tribeca); relocation assistance is not being offered
* Must speak English and be legally allowed to work in the United States

Nice-to-Haves:

* Game development experience
* Python, Perl, or Ruby
