Technology Evangelist

Truveo is looking for an individual with software development experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for innovative products to serve as our technology evangelist. In this role, you will be responsible for (1) building novel demos and “mash-ups” using our video search APIs, and (2) sharing your insights and development expertise with the world by actively participating in online forums, blogs, and industry conferences.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a solid understanding of good software development practices and possess the creativity and attention to detail to build novel and useful video-based web applications.

Education:
BS degree in computer science or related field

Required Skills:
- 3+ years JavaScript/HTML/CSS experience.
- Excellent coding skills (able to write clear and concise reference code).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Understanding of the web video industry.
- Solid understanding of OO software design principles.

Desired Skills:
- MS or PhD degree in computer science.
- Experience with Actionscript and Flash development.
- Familiarity with visual design principles and experience building user interfaces for web applications.
- Experience developing database-backed, web applications.
- Understanding of HTTP protocols and streaming media protocols.
- Understanding of search engine and data mining technologies.
