Technorati adds authority figures to results
by Allen Stern on May 5th, 2007
The fine people at Technorati have added a new feature to their rankings. Rather than just showing you the ranking figures for your site, now you can see the "authority level" to which your site ranks. I can't seem to find a definition of how this authority level is defined.
For example, CenterNetworks currently has a rank of 2,762 (low is better) and an authority level of 837 (high is better).
Here are a few others from the realm:
- TechCrunch - 19 rank, 18,192 authority
- Mashable - 103 rank, 4,932 authority
- MicroPersuasion - 146 rank, 4,087 authority
- Jeremiah's Web Strategist - 2,218 rank, 951 authority
- Engadget shows #1 rank - 27,503 authority
Side note: The top 100 on Technorati shows TechCrunch as number 4 yet the actual page is showing 19. I am guessing that the top 100 page is not a live page.
So what's your authority level?
