The cat killed Twitter w/video!

The cat killed Twitter. The cat killed Twitter. The cat… killed Twitter.

When you spend time typing a post and click the submit button and all you see is a cat photo, it can piss you off in a jiffy. This seems to be happening more and more with Twitter as of late. While I don't see Twitter as mission-critical, some others do. We all count on the services we use and expect a level of communication. Maintenance and patches should be scheduled whenever possible.

Duncan writes about switching from Twitter to Jaiku. I don't know much about Jaiku but I do know that moving sucks. Moving sucks in real-life and it sucks online. To move from one messenger service to another, your friends need to get in a suitcase too. And it's not easy to get 1000 friends or 1000 followers to get into the case.

Jason says, "Seriously, I'm in your corner… but the down time is really impacting my ability to get my job done!" This I don't get whatsoever. Here are a few of Jason's recent Twitter updates:

• Omg, sopranos starting! Someone pinch me.

C'mon, unless there is another Jason feed, none of this is really "job impacting" unless his job is to have his followers note every minute of his life? I must be missing something here. Someone help me understand the impact.
