TimeXchange Launches Time Tracking Mobile Developer Program

timexchangeChicago-based TimeXchange has announced the launch of an open developer program for their time tracking and reporting tool. The open developer program will allow mobile developers a method to build on top of the TimeXchange platform.

The company explains how the platform will work, "With the new program, third-party developers for iPhone/iPod, Windows Mobile, Android and BlackBerry devices have the freedom to access the TimeXchange timesheet management platform and integrate a wide range of mobile applications. Opportunities range from mobile expense tracking and task management, to industry-specific timesheet applications for legal, construction, staffing, pet-sitting, babysitting, tutors/education, and more. Additionally, further opportunities for custom development include language localization, various currencies, and corporate branding."

TimeXchange launched two of their own iPhone applications which helped to push them to open the platform so additional applications can be built for their members. Developers receive 100% of the generated income from their applications. There are so many platforms for developers to build upon today, will 100% of the income be enough to get developers to shift their focus to a new platform?
