There's a competitor out there called Cumulate Draw. It doesn't have the features as Gliffy but doesn't need Flash. I've just written a review at my blog. My blog is to uninstall ALL applications from my desktop and replace it with online tools. It is amazingly easy to create a realistic network diagram using its "Image Search" feature. In minutes I was able to find graphics that looked like name-brand switches, routers, and computers. But -- if only it could switch layouts for its drawing pad. It only draws in portrait mode. Printing in landscape "crops" the image, so you can easily loose part of your diagram. Since I want to share my diagrams using PowerPoint, that is a real limitation. Also, the drawing area is limited to 8.5 X 11 inches -- bummer! Any serious work will require Visio or you can use the drawing tools on an Excel spreadsheet to get a virtually unlimited drawing area. Thanks for your web site!
