Top 100 German Language Startups Announced

We’ve provided extensive coverage of the German startup scene on CN over the past two years. Today we’ve learned of a new German top startup list produced by Yeebase. The list covers mostly companies from Germany although I think at least a couple are Swiss. All of the sites have German as one of the languages they support — most support English as well.

I spoke with Yeebase blogger Timo Heuer who explained how the list works. "’Startups’ is a portal that lists German-language startups. The list is updated once a week and shows the top 100 German startups. It’s based on an algorithm and we’re using the Yahoo! and Technorati API to calculate the ranking."

You should spend a few minutes and check out the entire list as it will provide a flavor of what’s working in Europe. Here’s the current Top 10:

  1. Mister Wong
  2. Webnews
  3. Qype
  4. MyVideo
  5. yigg
  6. sevenload
  7. edelight
  8. verwandt.de
  9. gutefrage.net
