Twidox – Online Document Sharing For “Quality” Documents
Germany-based online document sharing site Twidox is getting ready to launch to the public this month. The site focuses on documents about learning in the European market. It appears that they support multiple languages as well.
Users can convert their documents into pdf, Microsoft Word and plain text. It appears the service is free for users. Twidox offers document statistics and the ability for readers to comment on documents in the Twidox repository. The Twiddox embeddable viewer is actually quite nice looking and very clean.
I asked about comparisons to other document sharing sites and here’s the differences that Twidox notes:
- Rather than targeting individual users, we focus on cooperation’s with organisations and conference organisers
- We concentrate on our local market – Europe
- Strong academic focus
- We only want ‘quality’ documents on our site, such as academic papers and articles, research material, professional and industry specific documents, data and statistics and press releases and corporate communications.
My only real suggestion for Twidox is that they consider changing their name. While I know they have been working on the product for years, they are launching to the public this month. In my opinion the name alone sounds like something related to Twitter and I am not sure that’s the best initial impression for a potential user to take away when someone shares the site.
