As reported by Rex Dixon, Twitter is down now for at least 10 minutes (as of 7pm est). Not sure yet if SMS or IM are working. Maybe it was Twitterholic bringing them down when the people outside the top 15 tried to get up in there!

Now, thumbs across the world are getting a rest and the cell carriers are pissed for all the lost overage revenue!

As of 7:24 EST- there is now a message that reads:

Twitter: down for maintenance—be back shortly!
