Here’s Twitter in Plain English

CommonCraft has published a new video yesterday that explains what Twitter is and how it works . I’ve embedded it below and it actually does a great job with the explanation.
In the video we get a chance to meet Carla. She was initially fearful of using the service but eventually she started to love the service! Oh and she loves Van Halen. The only part missing from the video is when Carla is sad when the service is down. And don’t forget to add CN to your Twitter list.
Twitter is ridiculously awful. One of my favourite descriptions: “It’s like talking to yourself, out loud, on the bus. And it offers just about the same amount of useful feedback.”
Also agree that “If Twitter is the future of online communication, or the future of blogging and/or journalism: I’m out.”

Twitter in a nutshell is quite simple…
Everyone is talking and NOBODY is listening!
Look, nobody cares what YOU are doing every single second of your life. Sorry. People all want to believe that their own life is a reality show. Twitter has to be the dumbest site in existence that people actually use.

Wow…these guys do a great job. I’ve been slowing down lately with my twits. Sometimes I think to myself “What’s the point?”. Not only does this video help those that have no idea what twitter is, but it might also help those that need to remember “why” they twit. Well done.
I think the idea of twitter is retarded… I want to actually have a conversation about my friends life, I don’t want to know they are out shopping.
I think it’s ridiculous that we as a society find it necessary to ensure that everyone knows everything about us. It is very narsacitic.
Here is an idea, pick up a phone, meet for coffee, PARTICIPATE IN LIFE.
The more 2.0 we become, the Less HU.MAN we are.
