Veotag Acquired by Multicast Media
I reviewed video hosting service Veotag in mid-2007 and liked the service. What was interesting about Veotag was that you could annotate a video and create jump points directly inside the video. In addition there is the option to display associated documents as the video moves forward. The company also notes that “veotags” are searchable by Google and the other search engines.
First reported by Dan Rayburn last week, Veotag has officially announced that the service has been acquired by Atlanta-based Multicast Media today. Financial terms of the acquisition weren’t released. Multicast self-reports they serve over 50,000 live video streaming events yearly.
Veotag also notes that you can build content mixes based on search results. They also mention in the release that Veotag content works with all the major audio and video formats, such as QuickTime, Flash, Windows Media, and MP3. It is compatible with both PC and Apple platforms.
